Peggy has been with the City of Yuma since August 2005. She was originally hired as a Purchasing Specialist, and was promoted to Buyer in November 2005. Peggy is the Chapter’s Charter Recording Secretary, serving in the final year of her 2-year term, and is enjoying the challenge very much.
A native of Michigan, Peggy moved to Yuma in 1969. She married Norman Hayes in 1979 and they have one daughter, and a grandson. Prior to being employed by the City of Yuma, Peggy worked for the Marine Corps Community Services at MCAS Yuma as a Buyer for 13 years. While there, Peggy bought for 4 different retail locations at the base, and oversaw a wide variety of commodities. She was employed by the Foxworth Galbraith Lumber Company as a Buyer, and worked in the Retail and Restaurant industries for several years before that.
Peggy became a National member of NIGP when she joined the City in 2006, and achieved her CPPB certification in February of 2007. She loves to assist others, and has assembled a wide variety of study material available for members to check out when they are ready to pursue their NIGP certification. |
