PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings fellow Desert Southwest Chapter Members!

As the end of the year draws near, I'm reminded of how quick time flies.

For me it's the Thanksgiving Holiday that quickly reminds me that the year is nearly over and that somehow I blinked and three seasons have come and gone. It's also a time where I become more purposeful, work hard to slow down and strive to make the most of every memory. Work is important and there's plenty to do, however that's not why I'm slowing down or taking extra time to notice the small things. I'll slow down to savor the flavor of the upcoming meals, and to see what the holidays will be like one last time before the arrival of the next Ponder (due in May at a hospital near you!). It's a time to recognize those who work hard, to appreciate their accomplishments and to give thanks for blessings received. It's also a time for self reflection and to pat yourself on the back for jobs well done. And as we walk, not run, through December we must take care at Christmas to breathe deeply as we celebrate in our own way; life, family, sacrifice and love. The end of the year draws down quickly from January through November but thankfully speed bumps in the brain slow us down at just the right time.

Thank you for your support of the Chapter, and the things that we are trying to accomplish.

If you have any ideas, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to hear from you!
